Happy Birthday Bella!

Bella is 8 years old today. I can't believe it has been that long since I got her. How fast the time has gone. She got a new feather toy and has been enjoying interactive play time with me.

Happy St. Patricks Day!

A Bit of Trivia
In English pubs, ale is ordered by pints and quarts. So in old England, when customers got unruly, the bartender used to yell at themto mind their own pints and quarts and settle down. From where we get "mind your own P's and Q's".

My favorite Irish Song
Danny
Oh Danny boy, the pipes the pipes are calling,
From glen to glen and on the mountainside.
The summer's gone and all the leaves are falling,
'Tis you must go, 'tis you must go and I must bide !

But come you back, when summer's in the meadow,
Or when the valley's hush and white with snow !
Then I'll be there in sunshine or in shadow,
Oh Danny Boy, Oh Danny Boy, I love you so !

And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.

And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me
And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me
I simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

Oh Danny Boy, Oh Danny Boy, I love you so!

Poems and Sayings
Dance as if no one were watching,
Sing as if no one were listening,
And live every day as if it were your last.

May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.

May those who love us, love us
And those who don't love us,
May God turn their hearts
And if he can't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles
So we will know them by their limping!

An Irish Blessing
May the roads rise
to meet you,
May the winds be always
at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft
upon your fields,
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow
of his hand.

The Ball

The Ball has turned into an a living breathing evil thing! This ball, is the joy of Reese's day. She gets up and trots down the hallway and into the kitchen and stops...surveys the scene left to right, right to left, up and down....no ball, so into the living room she trots. Again surveys the scene, around each piece of furniture, checks out the toy box until she finds......
The Ball...
One of Reese's favorite things has always been to play with her ball. On below zero days when we can't make it out for our romps in the snow, in addition to training and tricks etc. we always get a couple good games of ball in. In the morning while I have my coffee and in the evening when I get home before anything else is done including the trip out to potty, gotta find da ball for a few tosses.
But this ball....

Yes this one....

There is no doubt, this is the ball that rules all other ball's, but Reese is getting obsessed with it to a degree that I will not stand for. When she starts barking at me demanding that it be thrown on her terms not mine, it gets put up. It breaks my heart to see her come out of her crate and start feverishly searching for her ball, and the longer she looks the more worried you can see her face get until at last she gives a big sigh "humpf" and gives up. But I know in the end it is for her own good.

We still play ball, but when certain fuzzy faces...

get pushy, and bark and try to con me, with these kind of looks...

Fuzzy face can try all she wants, she still doesn't get to play until I say....
Lets....
play...
ball...
